Chasing Serendipity

What have I missed all those times I chose not to venture out and take photographs? What once in a lifetime scene did I fail to document and freeze in time?

The same goes for writing – every day I don’t write, what have I forgone?

It’s obvious but easy to forget that so much of the creative process hinges on simply exposing oneself to serendipity and not getting disheartened when it doesn’t fall in our favour. Craft gives us the means to straddle it when it does.

Give yourself more chances to get lucky.

The Thoughts of Others

“Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity, and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigors of the mind.” – Leonardo da Vinci
